Sue Kingham - Singing teacher
Sue Kingham is a highly qualified Perth-based singing teacher, with the expertise and experience to get your voice to where you want it to be!
"I have over 30 years of performance experience and have been running my own successful singing studio for 17 years. I can help you to understand and solve problems and personalise your training to fix and build your voice - much like a personal trainer would. I aim to develop and increase your range with no breaks or sudden changes in quality, to improve your vocal strength, develop your tone, and give you access to all dynamics without fatigue or damage to the voice. I love working with absolute beginners just as much as I love working with professionals. I am happy to teach and support you, wherever you are at.
I will help you to explore styles to figure out your own voice, work in the stylistic direction you want to go, and target songs to help build your technique. I can also assist you in picking appropriate repertoire for your stage of growth and work extensively with many students on original material. I also assist students in choosing and working on audition material for music theatre, current vocal competitions and much more.
My studio has a microphone and PA to assist in teaching you microphone technique in professional performance, so that you're not intimidated by microphones and can utilise them in a confident and professional manner.
I can teach you performance skills to help you deal with nerves before and during performance and help you to communicate the meaning, lyrics and intention of the song. I will also run performance courses and an end of year concert and more, to give you healthy goals to work towards. This gives you the opportunity to practice performance in a safe and supportive environment. From my personal and professional point of view, these are key elements you need to learn and develop before bringing yourself into the public sphere. Allowing yourself time to privately grow and develop as an artist so that you feel confident in your own abilities, gives you the tools to make a stronger impact when you enter the public domain.
I absolutely love what I do, and enjoy seeing my students progress and get through hurdles to go on and achieve their goals."
